Entre 30 y 40 por ciento de los mexicanos mayores de 30 a\u00f1os pueden padecer hipertensi\u00f3n arterial sin saberlo, advirti\u00f3 Juan Francisco Garc\u00eda, jefe del Servicio de Cardiolog\u00eda del Hospital General de M\u00e9xico \u201cDr. Eduardo Liceaga\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

La hipertensi\u00f3n es una enfermedad cr\u00f3nica donde la presi\u00f3n arterial asciende a niveles superiores a 130\/80 mil\u00edmetros de mercurio.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La gran mayor\u00eda de personas no genera s\u00edntomas y es una de las causas m\u00e1s frecuentes para las enfermedades card\u00edacas, infarto cerebral o insuficiencia card\u00edaca. Algunos pacientes pueden presentar dolor de cabeza, zumbido de o\u00eddos o hemorragias conjuntivales.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La enfermedad est\u00e1 asociada a predisposici\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica, exceso de sodio, falta de ejercicio, sobrepeso y obesidad, as\u00ed como relaci\u00f3n con la diabetes tipo 2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Suele presentarse con mayor frecuencia en hombres a partir de los 30 a\u00f1os, y en mujeres aumenta el riesgo despu\u00e9s de la etapa reproductiva o durante la pre y pos menopausia.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEs una enfermedad f\u00e1cil de detectar y tratable.
