La Reserva Federal de Estados Unidos (Fed) anunci\u00f3 este mi\u00e9rcoles una nueva reducci\u00f3n de su tasa de inter\u00e9s en 0.25 puntos porcentuales, ubic\u00e1ndola en un rango de 3.75% a 4.00%, y comunic\u00f3 el fin de su pol\u00edtica de contracci\u00f3n del balance (Quantitative Tightening, QT). Esta estrategia, aplicada durante los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, consist\u00eda en reducir gradualmente los bonos del Tesoro y otros activos que la Fed manten\u00eda en su balance, con el objetivo de retirar liquidez del sistema financiero y frenar la inflaci\u00f3n. El cambio marca un giro relevante en la pol\u00edtica monetaria estadounidense, que ahora busca dar un mayor impulso al empleo sin abandonar su compromiso con la estabilidad de precios. El Comit\u00e9 Federal de Mercado Abierto (FOMC) justific\u00f3 su decisi\u00f3n ante el enfriamiento del mercado laboral y la incertidumbre econ\u00f3mica derivada del cierre parcial del gobierno estadounidense, que desde principios de octubre ha limitado la publicaci\u00f3n de datos oficiales. Aun as\u00ed, la decisi\u00f3n no fue un\u00e1nime: dos miembros del comit\u00e9 votaron en contra, reflejando las diferencias internas sobre cu\u00e1nto margen existe para seguir reduciendo tasas sin poner en riesgo la credibilidad del banco central. El presidente de la Fed, Jerome Powell, insisti\u00f3 en que \u201cno est\u00e1 asegurado otro recorte en diciembre\u201d, subrayando que el organismo actuar\u00e1 con cautela. Tambi\u00e9n destac\u00f3 que la inversi\u00f3n en inteligencia artificial (IA) representa un \u201cgran fen\u00f3meno econ\u00f3mico\u201d, aunque no es directamente sensible a los movimientos de las tasas de inter\u00e9s.<\/p>\n
