La actualizaci\u00f3n del listado, publicada en octubre de 2025, confirm\u00f3 que esta especie no hab\u00eda sido vista desde 1985.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">De acuerdo con medios como Earth.com y la Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), la decisi\u00f3n se tom\u00f3 tras a\u00f1os de b\u00fasquedas sin \u00e9xito. Los \u00faltimos registros datan de dos avistamientos en 1958, y dos en 1984 y 1985. Sin embargo, su poblaci\u00f3n disminuy\u00f3 dr\u00e1sticamente a principios del siglo XX. Los cient\u00edficos atribuyen su desaparici\u00f3n a la introducci\u00f3n de especies invasoras, como la rata negra, que trajo consigo enfermedades y alter\u00f3 el ecosistema.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;\">La confirmaci\u00f3n de la UICN marc\u00f3 el fin oficial de una especie \u00fanica.
